This past July, our mission team had the opportunity to distribute sponsor letters to each of the 57 orphans at Congo for Christ Center(CCC) for the very first time. We instructed the children not to open their letters until we finished passing them all out.
They wiggled anxiously in their seats with excitement as one by one each child recevied their letter.

Some held their envelope up to the light trying to sneak-a-peek while others kissed their envelope. Once they opened the envelopes, an overwhelming feeling of joy and gratitude filled the atmosphere. They read. They grinned, They cried. They danced. They thanked us repeatedly. These orphans were very aware that someone on the other side of the world was investing in them through prayers and finances.

These letters put a face, a name and a voice to that someone. On that day, a strong connection was made as those personal letters expressed love and encouragement to each orphan. When you become a sponsor, you become more than a prayer lifter and a financial giver, you become part of their heart...to them, you are family.
