68 homes were totally destroyed by fire including the homes of two of our pastors and 32 church members.
We received an urgent plea for help from Reverend Thomas, leader of Feed My People, in India. He explained that they have been suffering from extreme heat this summer which has caused many houses with thatched roofs to catch on fire. On June 13, 2014, such a fire swept through the village of Pandurangapet near the headquarters of Feed My People. Sixty-eight homes were totally destroyed in the fire, including the homes of two of our pastors and thirty-two church members. Thankfully it was during the day when all of the people were away from home working and the children were in school. Consequently, no lives were lost.
Reverend Thomas is requesting emergency aid to help rebuild their homes so they can be protected from the terrible summer heat that continues.
After visiting the area the next day with his wife, Mary Grace, Reverend Thomas reported “they wept before me and humbly requested me to help them as we are able to do so.” Reverend Thomas is requesting emergency aid from Global Outreach to help rebuild their homes so they can be protected from the terrible summer heat that continues. They also need assistance to replace their cooking vessels and clothing. This village is located in an impoverished area and the people lead a life of hardship in the best of times.
We have send emergency funds to help our brothers and sisters in need. If you would like to help as well, please designate your gifts for fire victims in India.
