In April you may have read about Global Outreach Inc's trip to visit an orphange in Vietnam (April 2014 Newsletter). The orphans of Bethel Orphanage* even while struggling and enduring government harassment were still eagerly pursuing their education. While on that trip we identified a need of bicycles to help transport the children to and from school.
Thank you, dear partners, for your generous response to the request to purchase ten new bicycles to help the orphans in Vietnam. We sent the $350 they had requested and with it they were able to purchase nine bicycles and two air pumps.
These new bicycles are a big help in transporting the children to and from school each day.
These new bicycles are a big help in transporting the children to and from school each day. We received the bike receipt and a very nice thank you note from Pastor Daniel*. After receiving the funds he went right away to the bike shop and made the purchase. He shared the kids reaction with us: “The children went bananas when they receive it (the new bicycles) and they used it right on that afternoon for school.”
"The children when bananas when they received [the new bikes]"
We will send the funds to purchase the remaining bicycle they still need this month. We also feel we should try to support this orphanage with 43 children and 5 staff members in other ways. We will send funds to help with the purchase of food this month and as often as funds are available.mmFeeding the children remains the most urgent need as Li Su* and her husband trust God to provide the daily needs of the children. 100% of any gifts you designate for Vietnam orphans will be sent to meet these ongoing needs.
