Global Outreach Inc began supporting Reverend Jeremiah Rukukuye in 1996 as he attended Nairobi Pentecostal Bible College. Reverend Jeremiah’s wife, Georgette, and their seven children remained in D.R. Congo (DRC) while he attended college in Nairobi. During that time, civil war broke out in Congo and Georgette and the children had to flee for their lives. After traveling 250 kilometers on foot, they ended up in a refugee camp in Tanzania. A short time later, Jeremiah reunited with his family and was able to move them to Nairobi with him. During his years in Nairobi, Reverend Jeremiah started Christ’s Ambassadors Fellowship Church, and also ministered in villages, refugee camps, and to orphans with AIDS. Reverend Jeremiah saw a need to train leaders for the churches and in 2004 began a Bible College in a refugee camp in Tanzania.
In October 2007, Global Outreach purchased a plot of land for the college and ministry center in Uvira, DRC. Reverend Jeremiah named the center Congo for Christ and the Congo for Christ Missionary Church was established.
As the political situation in his homeland began to improve, Reverend Jeremiah felt the time was right to move the Bible College that he began in Tanzania to DRC and establish a ministry center there as well. In October 2007, Global Outreach purchased a plot of land for the college and ministry center in Uvira, DRC. Reverend Jeremiah named the center Congo for Christ and the Congo for Christ Missionary Church was established. Initially, the college held classes in a rented church and makeshift locations.
Global Outreach Inc funded construction of a large four room building which serves as the dormitory for nearly 60 orphans, classrooms for Revival Bible College, and initially as classrooms for Mango Tree School.
Global Outreach Inc funded construction of a large four room building which serves as the dormitory for nearly 60 orphans, classrooms for Revival Bible College, and initially as classrooms for Mango Tree School. God has provided since then for the installation of a potable water system supplying the campus, a garden for fresh vegetables, a kitchen for food program outreaches, a security wall, and a new building complex for Mango Tree School.
