We are praising God for the blessing of providing for 57 precious children in the war-torn country of DR Congo for the past three years at Congo for Christ Center (CCC). We have been amazed many times as God has used our wonderful donors to provide in miraculous ways to meet the ongoing needs of the children and members of the community. God provided water when there seemed no way for it to happen, and in 2014 a beautiful primary school building was constructed and paid for by your generosity and love. Ongoing expenses exceed $5,000 monthly and it is only by faith and reliance on God that these expenses are met. The Global Outreach budget does not include funds for the extra expenses of building and adding improvements for CCC. Once again we feel we should share an urgent need with you and trust God to meet the need in His time and His way.

Since the property was first purchased in 2007 for the development of the CCC orphanage, Bible School, primary school and still to be developed ministries, there has been an urgent need for a security wall to prevent personal injury, property damage and theft. Two years ago we provided funding to install a temporary barbed-wire fence with wooden poles. When the center was attacked by robbers, they simply cut through the fence and gained access to the compound. When we visit the area, we notice that almost all similar campuses are enclosed with concrete walls. As we plan for the future and discuss the needs with Pastor Jeremiah, a security wall is always his most urgent request—even over solar electricity and transportation.

We believe it is time to begin construction of a much-needed security wall. We have received various estimates and have decided to build a wall that is concrete block on the bottom with metal bars at the top. The estimated cost for this very large compound will be $79,957. This is such a large cost, but when we look back and see what God has provided, it encourages us to begin the new wall. We have broken it down and find that $5 will purchase one block and the associated expense of cement, iron, and labor. Forty dollars will purchase one linear foot of the fence.
